Action on Flooding:

Bill has taken action to support local residents and businesses affected by flooding. In June he took representatives from the Environment Agency on a series of visits to some of the villages and towns worst affected.

Supporting Local Businesses During The Recession: Bill has been helping local businesses during the recession and hosted a meeting in Leominster between local businesses and representatives from the main high street banks.

Bill has been campaigning to save Post Offices from the Government’s closure programme.

Access at Leominster Station:
 
Bill has secured funding from the Government for improvements to be made at Leominster station to help disabled commuters.
 
Colwall Bridge:

Bill at Colwall Bridge

After Colwall Bridge was closed for safety reasons, Bill persuaded Network Rail and Herefordshire Council to install a new bridge 2 years earlier than originally planned.

 
Securing For Road Safety Improvements:
 
Bill has secured improvements to road safety along the A49 at Ashton after a number of serious and fatal accidents.
 
Fighting For Local Schools:
 
Herefordshire received the third lowest funding settlement per pupil in England. Bill has been lobbying the Government over this and opposed the Government’s plans to close local schools.
 
Supporting Local Food Producers:
 
Bill has been supporting local food producers.
 
Young People and Diabetes:
 
Bill has backed the Diabetes UK campaign to support young people with diabetes.
 
Action on Palm Oil:
 
Bill has been working with industry and green NGOs to promote sustainable palm oil production and protect orangutan habitats.
